The Pub in the Village

A Brief History

"The Sully Inn, situated near the Church alongside Cog Road, was originally the Blacksmiths Shop, but closed shortly after the death of David Eckley. The premises were subsequently turned into a general store and opened as a branch of Deverall and Pawley's of Penarth in 1919.

The shop was managed by Mr George Davies, who afterwards became the owner, and he continued the grocery business as well as running the post office. Tea rooms and an ice-cream parlour were opened upstairs. The premises were converted into an Inn and opened as a free house in 1958."1

The Sully Inn Today

The current license holders are Father and Son, Kenneth and Jason Broad. Together they have created a thriving family business.
